This salt has been harvested near Guerande on the Atlantic coast of France for thousands of years, and it is ony harvested by hand. 
 
It is not bleached, washed or chemically treated like most other salts.
 
It has all the trace elements that the sea has, which is what the human body needs to be healthy. The site is very protected against pollution, and the coopeartive stored two years of production incase it needs to stop harvesting, due to a maritime disaster.
